About

This page is all about you and me. Let’s start with you because, really, you’re kind of amazing.

You have a message that you’re longing to share. You made a wonderful discovery and want the world to learn of it. You have something to sell or a story to tell, and you’re using words to do it because you know how powerful – and also how beautiful – they can be.

What makes you exceptional, though, is how much you care.

You devoted yourself to writing about your topic and you care about getting it right. You respect yourself as a writer and you respect your readers too. It’s why you’re here, looking for an editor, an expert, an ally who will refine your writing so it reaches your audience in the best possible state.

That makes you pretty impressive in my book. Just the sort of person I enjoy working with.

As an editor, writer and proofreader with more than 15 years experience, I believe in elegant, eloquent and effective expression. And I believe anyone can achieve it (with a little judicious assistance.) For me, editing is more than checking your spelling or correcting your grammar. It’s about saying what you want to say in a way that makes sense, sounds effortless and is a pleasure to read. My philosophy is this:

Your words matter. Make sure they shine.

You may be a student seeking reassurance before your deadline. You could be an entrepreneur, full of passion for what you do but less assured about putting it into words. Maybe you’re a novelist (if so, well done you!) in need of a professional perspective before you publish your masterpiece, or perhaps you’re an artist wanting words as eloquent as your images, or a poet uncertain if your verse truly conveys the wonder of your imagination.

I can help. I’d like to, so let’s talk about how.

Oh, and as for that story about my name…

When I was born, my dad made a mistake on my birth certificate. That’s why I’ve got three “i”s in my name. It may also explain why I developed such a delight for the intricacies and irregularities of language. Not to mention a precise eye for typos.
